From the Architect: "Colo Crossings is a new dwelling for retreat, located 100 kilometers northwest of Sydney’s CBD, and sitting atop a steeply sloping hill to the river. The project is conceived as a three-dimensional weave of landscape and building, allowing movement throughout in both the plan and section. A plunge pool sits at the heart of the building and is the central void to which the program and circulation are anchored. The house is made of shipping container units, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, living, dining room. The spaces are arranged to allow for a looping circulation pattern, allowing occupants to move cyclically through the house accordingly to the changing time of the day and weather conditions. From the entry promenade, the house is a periphery for viewing the landscape. One can see right through the house at its center like a telescope, foregrounding the immediacy of the landscape’s presence."
